800K Finance Lease

This deal consisted of funding 20 used tractor units for one of DCF biggest customers in the haulage industry based in the southeast. (read more tab)(photo of the assets) The purchase was made for 2 reasons. Firstly, they had just won a new contract with a international freight forwarder and needed to increase their fleet as they were already running at 100% capacity. The second was they were subbing work at the time and wanted to dedicate a proportion of the new tractor units to enable them to stop subbing their work and increase their earnings once more.
The challenge was the customer wanted to keep as much cash in the bank as possible, so the LTV was high. We made the decision to do a 5% deposit on a finance lease over 36 months on all 20, minimising the outlay but making sure the assets would be repaid relatively quickly. We utilised over 5 different funders for this deal to keep exposure to a minimum with individual funders, this means that there would be future appetite for the customers business nearer in the future.
